Problem storing to innerHTML (extra <A></A>)

1 New Member
I am having fits with a bit of JavaScript. I am filling in a <DIV> with a text string fetched from a database, and find that as soon as the browser executes
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. p.innerHTML = txt
the div (pointed to by p) does not contains just the text, but contains a link surrounding the text:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <a>{text}</a>
.

Where did that come from, and how do I make it stop?
