Javascript is always in an HTML file or included in an HTML file. AJAX is a javascript thing so actually there will be no AJAX files.

AJAX works by sending an HTTP request without reloading the current HTML file that it is in so that the whole HTML file doesnt have to load all over again.

Hope this helps.

andho is correct, but, to clarify, you use the same extensions that you normally do when you save a file. That is, if your normal file extension is .htm or .html, then you continue to use those same extensions. If you're using ASP, then you continue to use the same .asp extension. AJAX is a JavaScript technique, i.e., a way of using JavaScript, so it's treated the same as using any other JavaScript code.

Hi, there is something that was not mentioned if you'd like to save it on a separate file the extension would by the same as javascript .js because ajax is a way of writing javascript
