Ajax with SQL (MS Access)

17 New Member
Everywhere I look I see that Ajax is tightly connected with XML.

Is there a way to use all the benefits of Ajax with an SQL db?

(Specifically, MS Access db)

Be little bit specific.

Kind regards,

Okay, this is more specifically:

I have an MS Access database, to which I would like to attach a web-based UI.
The UI will include, among other things, drag-and-drop objects which will update the database on the server.

I was advised to use AJaX as the best solution for such a need, but I am having difficulty to understand how does AJaX interfaces with my database.
