Permission Denied error for opener object

Hello

I am using Javascript method on click of a button which opens up the new window displaying the table of the values.

Now when the user clicks on the any cell of the table (which is the URL), the cell value gets passed to the origanal page. I am trying to acheive this by invoking function on the source window

opener.setValue(value);

but on attempt of that it is giving Permission denied error.

i tried the code with simple static HTML pages and it works fine but when i run those pages through server it gives this error.
