Comments in URL

Ben
Hello,

I realize that this may not be the most appropriate group for this
message, but it is the best one that I could find.

My question revolves around putting a comment into a URL. Does
anybody know if it is possible to insert a string of text into a URL
(or append one onto the end) such that it does not affect the way the
page loads? For instance, I would like to type www.google.com<here is
comment> and simply launch google. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Ben

The stuff after the ? will be accessible to the host and client-side
JavaScript on the page being loaded for that matter.

Will do what (I think) you want.

Note that it will show up in the Web server logs.

Why do you want to do this?
