Folks,
I'm still learning javascript - I've invested in a couple of books and
reading online as much as possible. I'm pretty sure what I am suggesting is
possible though I'm trying to weigh up the faults that might go with the
suggestion... all opinions welcome.
My question: I have a list of links that go to pages that have a similar
layout. Could I have a text swap, similar to what I've seen with image swaps
(or an image switch)...

Hello .NET Gurus!
I have been posting messages all over the .NET forums to no avail, so I
thought I'd give this newsgroup a shot as well.
I am trying to figure out how to detect if a user-uploaded JPG file is in
Progressive or Baseline format. I need to determine this because the display
mechanism I am using (namely, flash) is not capable of displaying
Progressive JPGS. I have succesfully managed to detect the mime-type of the
files,...

How does one write an unmanaged function that perform this functionality?
In short I want to turn off/on visual style in my app...
Thanks,
Stephan
PS: two people have been looking for some time, and no solution aside putting the manifest
in a file, and renaming the file before startup was found... very ugly hack ...

Hi Guys
does anyone knows if the a JPEG file saved as JFIF version 1.02 is always considered progressive?
I need to create a program in C# to open JPEG files and upload just the non-progressive JPEG files.
I'm trying to find information about how to identify a progressive and non-progressive JPGE image, but I'm stuck.
Does anyone knows if I can find the progressive information just analysing the JPEG header or that is part of the...

Hello,
On a high volume page we have the following JavaScript:
img = new Image()
img.src = 'http://myserver.com/count.aspx?x=1';
and it works fine, but now we've added:
img.onload = myImgLoaded
and it fails on IE and FF. The reason being it's not returning a proper

I'm using a simple, pseudo progress bar. Very simply, I display a still
image next to a form submit button until the user clicks on it, and then
I change the image source to an animated version of the still image.
Like so (I use php a lot) ...
-- the submit button and still image --
<input type=submit name="update _stats" value="Update Mailbox Stats"
class="button">
<img id="loading" src="still_image.gif">

I did a javascript for the loading of images (I didn't want to have
the images loaded in "on loading" because they are too many).
The website is for a model and if you look at the codeof pages ( for
ex. http://www.agathamoon.com/gallery_48_eng.htm ) using explorer or
firefox it works, with safari it doesn't! :(
The idea is to have the word "loading" appearing while going from an
image to another.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
