I need to be know when the display goes into "suspend." It seems there is no
accurate way to query the state of the monitor so I am left with trying to
track the idleness of the system and compare that to the monitor idle time
out. There seem to be a few references on msdn documentation to system and
display idle timers but no mention of how...

I am using Access 2002. I downloaded the forms sample database
FrmSmp97.mdb from Microsoft and used the following code in the timer
event of a hidden form in order to close a database if no activity was
detected. I have it set for one minute for testing purposes only.
However, my problem with this code is when the message box pops up and...

I want to log the user out when there has been a period of inactivity in
the application. The key here is inactivity of the application, not the
system. I know that you can retrieve the inactivity of the system via
GetLastInputInfo. That's not what I want - I want inactivity of the
application.
Thanks.

How do you add events to the idle process? I know how to do it in Delphi and
VC++ but not VB, anyone know? I would rather use the idle event instead of a
timer event.
Thanks

I have a routine which checks idle time and opens a pop up screen to advise
users before shutting them down. The pop up has an option for the user to
keep the application open, in which case the timer is reset for another
period.
The problem occurs if the user is working on another application at the time
the pop up is activated, in which...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
