danielalrease, the problem is quite simple. You say:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.     <param name="movie" value="flash\menu.swf?button=1">  ...
  2. and     <object data="flash\menu.swf?button=1" width="100%" height="118" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
  3.
and again

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <param name="movie" value="flash\sl_show.swf">
  2. <object data="flash\sl_show.swf" width="320" height="197" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
  3.
And the problem is the backslash ( \ ) you are using defining the path, instead of the slash ( / ). So, in Firefox your path became: flash%5Cmenu.sw f (which is not the case in IE).

When working on a web site for my employer, I uncovered what appears to be an undocumented bug in Internet Explorer 5 & 6 for Windows in regard to a (perhaps uncommon?) integration of Flash scripting and CSS2 background imagery. I am hoping that someone out there can help me identify what steps I might take to remedy this situation. Perhaps it is something that Macromedia might be able to do something about, since getting IE fixed is...

I am developing an HTML javascript application and I want to preserve state in a way that can be book-marked. I chose HTML anchors as a means of preserving state. When the application changes state, the HTML page URL would change from default.html to default.html#stateA. example: http://pearstudios.com/javascript/locationHashAndFlash.html This has worked perfectly within HTML and javascript alone, however, when connecting Flash and...

I've noticed a subtle yet cool feature in Safari and I'm wondering how they did it. If you go to YouTube and open one of the videos in a new tab (Command-click), the page will load in the new tab but the video won't start loading or playing. Then if you click on the tab, the video will start playing and loading. If you immediately click back to another tab, the video will continue loading but will stop playing. It seems pretty clear how...

I am webmaster for the domain <www.alpha1.org.au>. Not being an expert in html, I take advantage of my domain Registrant's web building tool, 'Instant Website'. This tool is provided as part of the fee I pay for web hosting. 'Instant Website' provides the option of having your opening page as a Flash Page, which you'll see if you visit <www.alpha1.org.au>. Well, you'll see it if you visit from a Windows machine. For some reason, when...

Greetings. BACKGROUND: My sites are pure XHTML 1.1 with CSS 2.1 for markup. My pages are delivered as application/xhtml+xml for all non-MS web clients, and as text/xml for all MS web clients (Internet Explorer). My flash content was originally brought in via the “flash satay” method, but I have since used some server-side magic do deliver one <objecttag

Hello all. Please try this link for me and let me know what you see: http://www.neave.com/temp/stretch_test.html You should see a green header filling the top of the page, a red footer at the very bottom of the page and a white Flash movie filling the gap in between. You'll need at least Flash Player 7, otherwise it will just show black. It shouldn't scroll, it should act like a framed page but

Am trying to add a "video" to a webpage which is based on a template containing a javascript menu. The site has hundreds of pages all based on this template and the menu works fine The page can be viewed: www.faith.org.uk/Testindex.html In IE7 it works fine. The video shows and the dropdowns of the menu work correctly. In Mozilla Firefox, although the video works the dropdowns do not show. I have been told that everything works ok in OS...

Inserting a Flash (SWF, FLV) file into HTML web page is already an old and familiar thing to all of us. It is a rather non-flexible thing that just to edit some options in the template. However, I did not understand some parameters totally in the HTML tag. These days when I was surfing the Internet I have found some comprehensive introduction to these two tags. I read it and conclude it with my own words; I think it will be useful to us, so I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
