Javascript conversion from IE to mozilla firefox <a href="#" >

1 New Member
Hi guys,

I have been searching for solutions, but in vain. Hope i'll be able to source for answers here from you guys, thanks in anticipation.

I have this application that works fine in IE7, but not in mozilla. I have this left menu bar that is suppose to have a column with 2 sub menu. In IE7, the sub menu is able to be shown, but sad to say, in mozilla, it doesn't budge.

My codes snippet being,

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <li class="top" id="clothes"><a href="#" accesskey="K">Clothes</a></li>
  2.         <li class="submenu" id="tops1"><a href="tops.do" target="mainFrame" accesskey="G">Tops</a></li>
  3.              <logic:present role="Retail.Create New Bill Payment">
  4.         <li class="submenu" id="tops2"><a href="BillClothesWishList.do?method=start&home=MainCS.do" target="mainFrame" accesskey="K">Bill Clothes Wish List</a></li>
  5.         </logic:present>
  6.
Seems to me that it is due to the <href="#">. Hope there's an answer as to how should i go about changing it so that it is compatible for both IE7 as well as mozilla, in fact, let's just make it compatible for most used browsers, thanks again for your time.

regards, mdbrown

The code <a href="..." target="_blank">...</a> will not validate as XHTML STRICT because of the 'target' tag, so how do I achieve the same result by moving it to a CSS file? I cannot find anything which allows me to specify 'target=' on an anchor tag. -- Tony Marston http://www.tonymarston.net

Does the file extension matter when including a JavaScript file in an HTML page? Normally, one would include a JavaScript file in an HTML page using <script src="foo.JS" type="text/javascript"> However, I have found that I can use an alternate file extension, such as <script src="foo.HTML" type="text/javascript"> It works fine with my IE 6 and Mozilla. Will it work with other browsers?

Hi, in our webpage, a user could open a windows explorer to his temp directory with a simple link and usage of the file protocol: <a href="file://C:\temp" target="_blank">C:\temp</a> This worked very well a long time, but now it does not work anymore. We use IE6 and Microsoft Windows XP Professional 2002 SP2. I guess it has something to do with new IE security features. Does

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
