Is this using the input file element browse dialog? If it is, what you can do is extract the folder name from the path to the file. Not exactly what you want, but you can't have everything!

I'm using the following code from the Access Web to open a folder. The folder opens in "List" View. Is there an addition that I can make to the code to force the folder to open in "Details" view? 'This code was originally written by Ken Getz. 'It is not to be altered or distributed, 'except as part of an application. 'You are free to use it in any application, 'provided the copyright notice is left unchanged. '

I have a www based asp.net application which allows users to upload images (screen captures for fault reporting). These files get saved in the folder www.<domain>.co.uk/uploadedfiles/<filename>. I want to prevent public users from being able to see these uploaded files but I want to provide an...

Is there a way, given the full path of a folder on a network, that one can programatically tell if you have Read access to that folder? I have an application where the user is able to select a number of search folders using the standard dialog control. There shouldn't be an issue with the search folder being on a local drive or a network drive. But if you don't have Read access to the folder, there's trouble. The user can see the...

Hi All, I want to browse to a particular folder, not a particular file. The reason for this is that I have a utility that asks people to browse to a certain file, and I want them to be able to choose the location that they start browsing. Thanks in advance.

I've used Common Dialog Box in my VB6 program to let user browse to a desired file. However we use MS-Sharepoint to store many of our documents, so we reference them through MyNetworkPlaces which are linked to the appropriate webfolder. When the user browses to one of these folders (using my VB6 application using cd1.showopen), cd1.filename returns "“C:\Documents and Settings\<usename>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
