I'm using code that has statements similar to this:
if (foo == undefined)
and IE 5 complains that 'undefined' is undefined. What would the
equivalent in IE 5 be? Is 'undefined' the similar enough to 'null' for
me to use 'null' instead?

Hi,
I recently got very confused (well that's my life) about the
"undefined" value. I looked in the FAQ and didn't see anything about
it. On http://www.webreference.com/programming/javascript/gr/column9/
they say:
<snip>
The undefined property
A relatively recent addition to JavaScript is the undefined property.

I cannot get my Javascript to work in Firefox. I am just trying to
access the .name property of a DIV tag but it keeps coming back as
"undefined". The same code works in IE and it works in Safari.... and
if I change it to .id instead of .name it can read that so why wouldn't
it be able to read the .name?
I need urgent help!! Here's my code....

I have a simple search feature that searches 3 fields in 3 separate tables
in a MySQL db, and I'm getting an 'undefined index' error, but only in the
first section (first table)of the results. The undefined index is tied to
the docs.projID in the "if ($row_search == 1)". This if
statement is there to control to format of the link as pages are in
different depths of subfolders depending on security needs. Googling this
sort of error...

(see the post by ASM in the original thread; can be seen at
<http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.javascript/browse_frm/thread/3716384d8bfa1b0b>
as an option)
As that is not in relevance to "new Array() vs " question or to the
array performance, I dared to move it to a new thread.
Gecko takes undefined value strictly as per Book 4, Chapter 3, Song 9
of Books of ECMA

I have a quick question... We have ASP ver 1.1 on our Win2K3 server. We are
installing Sharepoint which requires the .net framework ver 3.0 and ASP 2.0.
No problems getting the .net framework 3.0 but I CAN NOT find ASP ver 2.0
anywhere!! Is it bundled in some other download? I checked MS download
site and version 2.0 is not there as a download - although there are tons of
references to ASP ver 2.0 stuff...
What gives?? Does anyone...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
