I literally started learning AJAX just last weekend.. I have this page, http://www.francesdelrio.com/ajax/db2.html, where I'm essentially doing what's here, http://www.w3schools.com/ajax/ajax_source.asp, only my array is populated from info pulled from db.. I added interface to HTML interface to insert info into db; info gets inserted in to db in a servlet then servlet redirects back to HTML interface, where if user types something from...

Hello NG, I've been doing some AJAX for a few weeks now. The basics worked fine so far, but now I've got the following problem which I can't solve: With AJAX you typically update/replace only parts of your page. But in my application there are situation when I first notice on the server -- so AFTER sending an AJAX request -- that I have to update the complete page instead of only some parts. And what do I do now???

Hi, I have written a small C# 2.0 DLL which acts as a client to a Socket based server over the internet. I have written both synchronous and asynchronous methods to connect, send, and receive data from the server. Each request/response can take upto 180 seconds. I am trying to use the asyncronous calls in an ASP.NET C# 2.0 Webcontrol, which displays the returned data. At the moment I am happily using the asyncronous functions and events...

So, I've used ajax for quite some time for different stuff. Mostly I just feed a funktion I made with the ID of the DIV that should be updated with the output from page XXX.php Now I want to have a standard funktion to set a JS variabel to the output of a page. I am doing a date validation thing, which is done in PHP. So this is how far I've come so far: function ajaxresults(url){ var ajax = createAjaxObject();

Hi, I have an image reference (IMG) in my page that changes depending on the value of a database field. Clicking the image triggers an Ajax call to change the database field (toggles the field value between 1 and 0). I've made it work so that the image source changes to reflect the new value once the Ajax call is complete. In other words, the image reflects the value of the database field in real-time. Kind of like a real-time checkbox. This...

I created a map application which works fine with regular aspx and a meta refresh. I would like to have the map itself update independently using ajax. (Sorry on the long post, I just started using ajax. This is on an IIS server and all ajax has just been downloaded and installed and functions with simple ajax web pages) The map worked fine except the original script in C# uses a response.write: (ie) Response.Write("<form...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
