"about:blan k" opens new browser window

sid
I am writing a webpage that will run on other machines that I may or
may not know about. My page is framed where frame1 controls the
content of frame2.

What I have found is that if the page in Frame2 fails to load and I
get an error page. when I detect an error page I want to set
frame2.location .href = "about:blan k" and then write a temp error page
until the server becomes available again. The problem is that the
security on some systems causes the "about:blan k" to open a new
browser window. I don't want a new window. Is there anyway to detect
that the system is opening up a new window as opposed to the existing
frame ?

Can my script test for the security setting on another frame, to see
if the security is 'restricted' no matter where the security was set,
either in the declaration of the frame or the security tab of IE ?

Thanks

Eli.

Try to set the src of frame2 to "" and then write the message.e.g
frame2.src="";
frame2.document .write( ... )
....

Hi I have a form that opens a new window for the results. Because the results might take a few seconds due to server processing, I would like to display a message "please wait" in the new window, erase that message when the processing is done and show the results. How is this done? John Dalberg

Hi All, This one is a bit bizarre. My understanding of "Access is denied" with respect to window.moveTo is that it results from a request which would move a portion of the window off screen. The window in question is 480 high by 1000 wide. The screen dimensions are 1024x768. The move request is to 10,10, which would put the max right coordinate of the window at 1010 and the max bottom coordinate at 490. Both coordinates are...

Anyone: I have a simple MSAccess DB which was created from an old ASCII flatfile. It works fine except for something that just started happening. I'll enter info in a record, save the record, and try to move to another record and get an Access error "Record is too large". The record is only half filled, with many empty fields. If I remove the added data or delete some older data, then it saves ok and works fine again. Whenever I'm...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
