Hi All,
I have this problem. I have a main page, and option to show popup window. This popup window is div + iframe based.
When User clicks to open this popup, he do some staff on it, there are some postbacks. After finish, he closes the popup window.
Finally, after those all, the back button doesnt work ( or I need to click back button many times to have it worked).
I would like to achieve this situation, that between opening and closing this popup window, it wouldnt be on browser's history.
I tried to put location.replac e when this popup is being opened, like this:
popupFrame.cont entWindow.locat ion.replace(url );
And it is Ok. History is not being added. But when user clicks, lets say 'Cancel', I have got history added.
I dont want to reload master page, cause I will lost the state of this page.
Thanks in advance....

I would avoid pop-ups. Many people have pop-up blockers so most people will not see your info.

Click 'cancel' on what? You can capture that event and replace the url to prevent the history being added.

To be fair, I think it's not a normal popup, but iframe-based, though I can't say for sure unless I see the code.
which event should i capture ????

I need a tool to browse text files with a size of 10-20 Mb. These
files have a fixed record length of 800 bytes (CR/LF), and containt
records used to create printed pages by an external company.
Each line (record) contains an 2-character identifier, like 'A0' or
'C1'. The identifier identifies the record format for the line,
thereby allowing different record formats to be used in a textfile.
For example:
An A0 record may consist of:

How can I programmatically clear the internet history in Windows XP? I
tried downloading the PowerToys which contain TweakUI as this used to
do it in previous versions of Windows, but the option is not there. I
then tried installing an old version of TweakUI but this does not work
either. I assume if the contents of '..Local Settings\History' could
be deleted then this would work but how do you this from a script.
Is there anyway in...

A user logs into a web site. He is then redirected to a web page of his choosing - based on menu options - for example: "WeeklyReport.aspx" is a page the user is currently viewing
If the user session times out, I redirect the user to a "logoff.aspx" web page that now informs the user he must relogin to the web site
Question: Is there anyway to clear the browser's history list (prior to Response.Redirect("logoff.aspx") - to ensure the user...

In IE7, how to find browsing history that would show complete URL like in IE6 where we can goto the website page directly.
In IE7, only the site's main name can be seen but not the full link.
Does anyone know how to look at complete URLs?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
