javascript menu hides behind the flash in Mozilla

6 New Member
Hi all,
I have created a javascript manu. In my website the menu and the flash object are kept side by side. It runs properly in IE, but in Mozilla the javascript menu hides behind the flash object. Due to this i m not able to view the menu. Can any one help me out to solve this problem?

WMODE: This goes by many descriptions: WMODE, transparency, windowless mode, "grey region where the SWF should be", and "Hey, the Javascript menus drop down behind the SWF".
This contains some workaround...

This is an issue for linux users running firefox. I would assume it's the same issue with Opera.

I understand that. Note that I said it could be the same problem. It appears to be a browser issue, not a flash issue. There's a hack workaround posted in the bug report, see if that works for you.

I have a menu that is just above a flash animation. Problem is the menu is hidden by the flash app. I understand this is a problem that can't be fixed with NN. IE5 and Mozilla don't work either, but the problem doesn't happen with IE6. Is there a fix for this problem yet? Thanks Jim

Hey, I just noticed a little quirk in two different javascript drop-down menus on two different sites: On each site, the part of the menu that expands gets hidden behind flash objects on the page. Here's an example:

I've been asked to help out with the navigation bar on this page: http://www.thesecondroad.org/ The drop down menu (which is pure CSS, save for a fix for IE) appears behind the Flash module. As I understand the problem, if everything on the page was absolutely positioned, the designer could give the navbar a z-index that lifts it above the Flash module. However, nothing on the page is absolutely positioned. Instead, everything is...

Am trying to add a "video" to a webpage which is based on a template containing a javascript menu. The site has hundreds of pages all based on this template and the menu works fine The page can be viewed: www.faith.org.uk/Testindex.html In IE7 it works fine. The video shows and the dropdowns of the menu work correctly. In Mozilla Firefox, although the video works the dropdowns do not show. I have been told that everything works ok in OS...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
