Hello everyone:
I am developing a VB.Net Windows Application and I am now ready to create
the deployment project for it.
This application needs to be installable on a different number of users /
clients, and the application has an Access DB out on their network.
How can I create a deployment routine where I can have a dialog box prompt
for the network share (i.e. \\server\dbfolder) at install-time?
Once network the share is specified...

Can anyone let me have the code for opening the open file dialog box and
getting either a file or folder name as the output.
I suspect it will look like
Function GetPathOrFile(InputPath as String) As String
......
End function
I seem to be able to get one or the other, but not both Files and Folders. I

I'm using the following code from the Access Web to open a folder. The
folder opens in "List" View. Is there an addition that I can make to
the code to force the folder to open in "Details" view?

I designed a small app and I wanted to do a BrowseFolder (see
http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0002.htm), basically do a file open
diaglog and select a directory/folder. The problem is that you can't
specify the starting folder.
Stephan Leban provided a neat solution that does allow me to browse
using a starting folder.
I am using A97 and it works fine. However, I put it onto a system that
uses AccessXP. And it chokes on...

Is there a way, given the full path of a folder on a network, that one can
programatically tell if you have Read access to that folder?
I have an application where the user is able to select a number of search
folders using the standard dialog control. There shouldn't be an issue with
the search folder being on a local drive or a network drive. But if you
don't have Read access to the folder, there's trouble. The user can see the...

Hi All,
I want to browse to a particular folder, not a particular file.
The reason for this is that I have a utility that asks people to browse
to a certain file, and I want them to be able to choose the location
that they start browsing.
Thanks in advance.

I'm using code from the following web page to open the API Browse Folder
dialog
http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0002.htm
It all works fine. But if the dialog box is open and the user closes Access,
the system just hangs and Access apparantly cannot close. I have to open the
Windows Task Manager and force the closing (and even that takes quite awhile).

I am writing a website and I would like to write a user control
(ActiveX? DLL?) that can open the Windows Folder Browse Dialog from
the client.
I do have a user control (a DLL project) that opens the relevant
Dialog box.
I have problems integrating it in my website - I would like users to

I have a working hyperlink field in a table, and it's form. I also have a working File Picker Dialog: FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker), being used to create the hyperlink.
What I need to do, and can't figure out how, is to have the dialog pick a folder, not a file within it. I need the hyperlink to open the folder so the user can then select a file within it to open. Right now, when navigating in the file picker dialog, clicking on the...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
