document.domain for cross domain access with AHAH

1 New Member
I know cross domain stuff has been discussed here before but I could not find a answer to my issue. I am a designer that does "hunt and peck" coding so again please excuse my lack of technical savy. Anyway here is the issue. I was trying to load external pages from content.mydomai n.com into pages on web.mydomain.co m.

(I can not put all the pages into one place because the cma that my company uses only lets me put the text of the master page on the web sub domain and I have to put all the other html pages and images on content.mydomai n.com)

I have two questions:

1. I have found many versions of the AHAH code which is the most sound?

2. How do I use the document.domain = "mydomain.c om"; with AHAH?

Thanx

For AHAH, see this link.

Set document.domain on both domains.

Hi all, I'm working on a project at the office that pulls together a bunch of our websites into a portal thing and adds a better search engine. We're also trying to accomadate newer browsers (Netscape 7.2, Firefox, Safari) and are having some problems. The websites run on different servers, all of which we control, so we are setting the document.domain = "ourdomain.com"; in some javascript on ever page. However, we're having problems....

Could someone explain the discrepancies within and between the stated definitions / usage of 'document.location' , 'document.URL' vs. their actual functionality? Should they be read-only when in fact they are not? Is 'document.URL' also deprecated, and should therefore never be used? What is the last word re: the proper syntax for returning and setting the current window's location? We have: document.location document.location.href

can someone explain the cross domain security re AJAX in IE? I have a page that calls a web service (WS) from another domain (the target browser is only IE6) and displays it's results! all works fine when the page is run from my hdd, however when run from the web I get "Access denied" due to the cross domain security (I assume). So I set the browser setting to allow cross domain but this did not seem to work, I got the same error!

Hi, We try to implement a "web-application" where we have to access a general web-site -- loaded into a frame -- from another frame using JavaScript. We know that there are security issues concerning cross- domain-scripting. Our first soultion (which is working) uses the setting of the required privilege to have "Universal BrowserReas" netscape.security.PrivilegeManager.enablePrivilege ("UniversalBrowserRead");

I have been at this for two weeks now. I am trying to send two variables from a flash file located on newgrounds.com, kongregate.com, armorgames.com or any other site like that to a php file on my site pogolama.com. I have read through most of the adobe manuals for security and still have no Idea how to use those features, that's why there are so many variations of them in my code. I can not figure out why my php file will not get the...

Hi, First of all, a confession. This is a cross post from the microsoft.public.dotnet.general list. I posted there not realising that this list existed. Apologies to those who read both lists. I'll do my best to prevent two separate conversations developing. I'm trying to create an XML Document. This is what I want to end up with:

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
