At the top of the page on my website http://www.itemlook.com I have an
animated gif called "eyeline.gi f". It has worked fine in the past, but
recently I am unable to get it to work using IE6. All that I get is a box
with nothing in it. It almost seems as if the file will not open on my page,
let alone animate.
It still works fine with my Netscape browser. I am using Windows 98. Any
ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,

It doesn't open for me either. In Firefox I see the image but it is not
animated. In IE6, even when saving the file locally, it will not display
the image in an html file.

Try re-creating the image. But in either event, it has nothing to do

Works fine in firefox 1.5 (linux) too.
If you just use the URL, http://www.itemlook.com/images/eyeline.gif
does it work?

Thanks for responses. After I posted, I remembered that eyeline.gif was an
animated GIF and not an animated javascript. I still haven't figured out if
my problem is with the file or the browser. It used to work in IE6. Sorry I
posted to wrong group.

It appears that my animated eyeline.gif would not load or work properly on
my IE6 browser because of a Windows Update (KB90515) that I installed on
12/14/05. I removed Internet Explorer Q905915 in Control Panel - Add/Remove
Programs, and my IE6 browser sees the animated gif perfectly. I suspect that
I need to save eyeline.gif in a more recent version of Photoshop.
Thanks again for the feedback.

It gave an error message when it loaded the file indicating that
something was wrong with a size. It corrected the size auto-
matically. Saving the file involved clicking upon the Save As
button. I deleted the two copies after I posted the new file
here.

I was beating my head against the wall with this problem. I could view my own animated gifs in Netscape - and in IE 6 from my hard drive. I could not view them in IE or in Firefox from the web.
I found a solution by undisabling (is that's a word?) the ad blocking feature in my firewall (in zone alarm - go to the privacy tab, main tab, turn ad blocking off).

I'm trying to create an eBay ad. So far, I've got the page the way I

I can get it to work in FrontPage and 'Preview in Browser'. However,
When I enter the URL or when I 'select all' html and paste it into the
'add your own html' box in ebay, the gif's don't animate.
If anyone would take the time to scan my 'index.htm' and let me know

Is it possible using Image or Bitmap to build and save an animated GIF file?
I am not have a problem saving the GIF file just getting the frames added to
it.
I did find ImageAnimator but it only seems to deal with showing the GIF and
not saving it.
Thanks,

Hi there,
I'm trying to read an animated gif from a url (for a banner-rotator). The
code I have now, does read the gif (or jpg), but the result is that I only
get the first frame of the animated gif, AND at a much lower quality :-(
Important to note is that the image is read from a url (from a different
server), and thus NOT from the local disk.
Below is the code I use:

Hi,
I'd like to write Javascript that stops animated gifs from animating.
On Firefox, at least, window.stop(); does the trick, although it stops
everything on the page and is kind of unpredictable. If I connect it
to the onload event, sometimes only half the page will be displayed.
Does the onload even fire before rendering?
Does anyone know a reasonable way to accomplish my original goal of

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
