Hello folks --
I would like a JavaScript tutorial for programmers. By this I mean that
I'd like to know the language "fundamentals" /first/ and then learn about
the "web stuff".
This is because I came accross some articles claiming that JavaScript is,
in fact, quite full of interesting capabilities (closures, higher-order
functions, anonymous funtions, even object can be supported as in OOP).
Can anyone recommend me a tutorial that goes...

I have a problem with my browser running Javascript.
Using Netscape, I can run programs with Javascripts.
Using IE, or if I open an HTML program with wordpad, the Javascript
code will not execute.
IE and wordpad used to work...now it doesn't.

Hello Everybody,
I am writing an interactive tutorial for JavaScript.
I created a text box into which the users can input
javascript commands. On pressing a button, these commands
will be evaluated.
It works fine - but won't show any error if the commands
are wrong. Is there a way to show an error if the 'eval'
command encounters an error?

When a poster in a forum I frequent said they were beginning to learn HTML,
I thought I should direct them to a good HTML tutorial so that they
wouldn't start using <blink> and the like. Remembering that this group has
discussed HTML tutorials several times in the past, I searched the Google
Groups archives, but all I can find are tutorials unfortunately
demonstrating Flavell's Law. Searching the internet, the only accurate
tutorials for...

Hello all!
As embarrassing as it is to admit this, I've been designing db driven
websites using javascript and vbscript for about 6-7 years now, and I
am *horrible* at form validation.
To be honest I usually hire someone to do it for me, grab predone
scripts and kind of hack out the parts that I need, or just do very
minimal validation (e.g. this is numeric, this is alpha-numeric, etc.)

I am new to Python and am working on my first program. I am trying to
compare a date I found on a website to todays date. The problem I have
is the website only shows 3 letter month name and the date.
Example: Jun 15
How would I go about comparing that to a different date? The purpose of
my program is to load a webpage and see if the content on the front
page is fresh or stale as in older than a few days. Any help in the
right direction...

Hello,
I am new to XML and PERL and I have a few questions the answers to
which I need to complete a project. All your time and effort would be
highly appreciated. I have to make a small HTML page which would take
in as input the state code, of the 50 states belonging to the Unites
States of America. After the user enters the two letter code and
presses the "GO" button, a *.xsd file is parsed to retrieve
information about the entire state...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
