I built my company's website and the content portion of the site uses
text with styles with relative values and the navigational part of the
site uses text with styles with absolute values. The purpose of this
was so that the end user could increase the size of the text on the
webpage and only the content portion of the page would scale or resize
but the navigation would not. This works as expected on a pc but the
entire page scales on a MAC. Does MAC not support text with styles the
same as pc so that the only scalable text is that with relative values
(ie: small, x-small, medium, large, etc)? Absolute values conist of
point sized text.
Here is a page sample: http://www.otpp.com/web/website.nsf/web/companyprofile
All help and insite is appreciated. 2 1540

FYI...
Navigating your site requires JavaScript.
Not all of your visitors will have it enabled.
Though one could use the "Site Map" page.
Your "Site Map" page looks funny when JS is disabled as
the following is visible above the "Print this page" image:
onmouseover="do cument.print.sr c=printon.src"
onmouseout="doc ument.print.src =printoff.src"> ro*********@gma il.com wrote: I built my company's website and the content portion of the site uses text with styles with relative values and the navigational part of the site uses text with styles with absolute values. What does this have to do with JavaScript? Seems you'd be better off
asking the question in comp.infosystem s. www.authoring.html or
comp.infosystem s. www.authoring.stylesheets.
Which browser on Mac OS are you talking about, there are lots of them -
IE, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, Camino, OmniWeb, iCab, and oh, Safari too.
For the record, all your text scales in Firefox on Windows too when the
browser controls are used to increase the text size, so what is 'works
as expected on a pc'?
Before you post in one of the other groups, you had better get your page
to validate, it generates nearly 100 errors. Don't use XHTML style
markup in HTML transitional - better yet, move to HTML 4 strict.

Here's my situation. I have a statically positioned table that has an image
in a cell. I also have some layers, defined by absolute-positioned DIVs for
some animation. Everything works until I scroll/resize. Then the image
"moves" on the screen but the animation doesn't. The net effect is that
their relative positioning changes. I'd like to have it be that they would
stay in the same relative position. I want to keep the image as an...

Hi,
I am basically trying to accomplish drop down menus for navigation on
a site. And I'm pretty much done except I am having one problem. The
z-index is not working with relative positioning!
Basically I have a page such as this:

Hi, there,
I'm trying to do something, and part of the problem is that I don't
know how to describe the effect.
One block will have a list of links stacked over one another and
separated by p tags.
When the user hovers over any link inside this block, a description of
a link will appear slightly to the right of the link (let's say 1 inch

Hi there,
I have a problem with some CSS I'm writing and I was looking for a little
help. I have a nav bar at the top and left side of my page in CSS which work
fine. The remaining space has a div which I'm using for body text. Floated
to the right of this are two image boxes and a broken out quotation from the
page (this box is wider than the images). The layout is working, except that
the text in the main section doesn't seem to wrap...

Greetings,
the last two article parts described the design and implementation of the
text Processor which spoonfeeds paragraphs of text to the LibraryBuilder.
The latter object organizes, cleans up and stores the text being fed to it.
Finally the LibrayBuilder is able to produce a Library which is the topic
of this part of the article.

In IE6 the text for the following page doesn't display properly - rather than being aligned to the top, along with the slideshow and link buttons, you have to scroll down to see the text - how can I make IE6 display correctly?

I'm sending an HTML email to Lotus Notes and I'd like to hide some text
from casual observation. There is nothing sinister in this; the text to
be hidden is simply a 12-digit number that I use to indicate to the
recipient (me!) that the mail can be archived without reading (It is a
"Job ran successfully" note). It makes writing message filters simpler.
So the challenge is to find something that Lotus Notes will "see", but I
won't. How...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
