I have been playing around with this task for some hours now, and can't
seem to find a way.
I have an assortment of buttons on a web page, which have their background
colors defined via style classes. I would like to define one set of
rollover functions that would give the effect of darkening (or perhaps
lightening) the background color when the mouse hovers over the button.
That is, I would like a javascript function that can get a...

Hello all!
For quite some time now, I've got the following problem:
Access won't close properly when a user closes the application. An
ACCESS process stays active and that process can only be terminated by
pressing ++ and then terminate the process.
I searched the entire internet and found out that there could be two
things wrong (both of them are mentioned in the bug list on the access

In one of our ASP.NET Pages, we are starting a new background thread that we
do not need to go and get any status on or use after the page finishes. The
thread merely does some background stuff on its own and finishes on its own,
no feedback back to the user (by design). Within that thread however, some
items need to be accessed and/or inserted into the Cache for possible
subsequent processing by another page. Many examples I see of...

We are running an Access 2000 MDB with a SQL 7 back end. Our network guy is
upgrading to Windows Server 2003 and wants to upgrade Office and SQL Server
at the same time. We're moving to SQL Server 2005, and, since he already has
licenses for Office Pro 2002, he wants to upgrade to that.
I've been saying that we need to upgrade to Access 2003, not 2002, even if
Office is kept at 2002. We are also looking to do a fair amount of...

Hi there
I am trying to write an "application" in Access 2000, that displays a front
end and allows the user to interact with the database without seeing Access
loaded, in the background, nor on the taskbar.
When I click on the generate report button, from the front-end's form, no
report/query is displayed. However, if i disable the code that "hides"
Access, the reports and queries work perfectly.
How do I get this functionality...

Hi
I have been writing Access applications for some years now and have moved away from from the 'Switchboard' type of opening form to using a menubar accross the top of the screen and borderless form used as a 'background', which shows a graphic, revision status & contact details etc
The menu-bar works fine when clicked by a mouse, but beeps when using an Alt+ letter 'acceleration' key, unless another user-form is already open over the top...

Hi
I'm new to the forum and also a VERY new user of Access to develop databases. I'm building a DB for a driving instructor acquaintance, and he wants a button on the pupil data entry form which he can click to flag a pupil as "Do Not Rebook" (i.e. if they're a non-payer or something). Upon clicking the button, he wants a value to be recorded in the appropriate field in the table (so we can report on it later) and he also wants the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
