ASP NET Object - how to get network resources

I have problem with network object. When I try to get network
resources (for example using metod MapNetworkDrive ) I get message that
"there is no permission..." But user, browsing my web service, has a
permission to this network resource.
This is because of loging to this network resource as IIS service
running user.

How to get any network resource loging as a user who browse a web
service?

Thank You for help.

This has nothing to do with JavaScript, but with managing IIS/ASP
security. Maybe [1] will give you enough information to solve this.
For details and further information you may find better answers in
an ASP specific group, especially in the news:microsoft. * hierarchy.

Hello everyone: I am developing a VB.Net Windows Application and I am now ready to create the deployment project for it. This application needs to be installable on a different number of users / clients, and the application has an Access DB out on their network. How can I create a deployment routine where I can have a dialog box prompt for the network share (i.e. \\server\dbfolder) at install-time? Once network the share is specified...

I need to write a windows service, and the only way it can access a shared drive on a file server on the network is if the installer is put in "User" mode - "LocalService", "LocalSystem" and "NetworkService" don't work. i.e. it can't access the shared drive. But in "User" it can. But I don't want it in user mode, if possible. I would rather it be a service. Is there any way to do it?

Is there any other solution for an ASPNET application to access network resources other than running as SYSTEM, using delegation (a nightmare to get to work) or the COM+ solution? I cannot seem to impersonate a user and obtain network credentials using the DuplicateTokenEx call with appropriate parameters even though the call seems to not fail. I check my identity has changed but can only still do local commands. I would consider...

I have a web application with impersonate=”true” in Web.config and on my own logon page I allow the user to either - specify a userid/password for the app to impersonate when calling legacy COM objects - or, just use the interactive user If they choose to use the interactive option, the impersonate="true" means that the process runs under the interactiv user (which I've confirmed works correctly). If they specify a userid/password, I...

How can I have that specific aspx code login into the active directory with specific UID/PWD? The rest of ASPX pages in the application don't need to have any access to file resources. Thank you,

Say i have a class car with properties: Color, Make, Model, Year, DriverID And a Driver class with properties: DriverID, Name The driverID PRIVATE property is the id of the driver from say a driver table (t_driver). This has a PUBLIC property accessor called Driver My understanding of OO using the composition model is that when you want to load up a car class, you would access the DB to get Color, make, Model, Year, DriverID and load...

Hi, I'm looking to create a simple application that will copy files from a folder on one PC on the network to another PC on the network but I am having a bit of difficulty doing this. The problem is that the network is not active directory and there is not a common username and password between the PCs. The only way I can transfer files is if I first open Windows Explorer and navigate manually to the PC enter the username and password...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
