Capturing and setting window "pageYOffse t"

Don

- I'm trying to have the "header" frame capture the "main" frame's "pageYOffse t"
- Then, after some processing the "header" frame has to reload the same "main" frame page, but I
want it returned to the same vertical scroll position.
- The"main" frame page then picks up the captured "pageYOffse t" stored in the "header" frame and
restores it before the "main" frame page is written to the display. What am I doing wrong with this
code? Can't seem to get it to work.

"header" frame:
..
..
..
var mainPageYOffset ;
//
mainPageYOffset = parent.main.win dow.pageYOffset .value;
//
parent.main.loc ation="mainPage ";
"main" frame & same reloaded "mainPage":
..
..
..
window.pageYOff set.value = parent.header.m ainPageYOffset;
Thanks for your help.
Don

I wonder if I should be using "scrollY" instead? I sure could use some help on this one.

Thanks,
Don

On unload of a page, I store the current scrollbar position (ie, window.pageXOffset and window.pageYOffset) into a cookie. On load of that same page, I fetch the information from that cookie and scroll the window accordingly. I used the name "remember_scrolling" for the function doing the store, and "recall_scrolling" for the function doing the fetch. (There is also a function which deletes the cookie. It is named "forget_scrolling".)

Can I trap when the scroll is ended? This is what I want - the calculator disapears when the site visitor starts scrolling the main page. I'm doing that with an "onScroll()" function. I'm bringing the calculator back with a "onMouseup()" which I thoguht would activate when the scroll bar was released but it doesn't. What I really want is an "offScroll()" but there is no such thing! ...

Hello, I am making a web page and have included a JavaScript named crazy clock. The page displays fine in IE but not in Firefox. The event console says: "event is not defined" at line 143. According to notepad plus, line 143 is: ymouse = (ns)?evnt.pageY+ClockFromMouseY-(window.pageYOffset):event.y+ClockFromMouseY; And the whole function is:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
