Yes. That's because you're not passing a form reference to your function.

First of all, this is not a programming question. I'm a user, not programming in JavaScript. I'm not, however, a novice user or even a power user - I certainly know programming intimately as well as computer hardware, configuration, etc... down to the lowest level (e.g. BIOS, assembly language, etc). Anyway, I've obviously got something wrong with JavaScript configuration, files, etc. in Windows 2000, Service Pack 3, because on sites...

I thought assigning one function to another was fairly straightforward, as the example below illustrates. So I was really surprised that IE 6 showed the alert while Firefox 1.0.1 failed. It's easy to shore up Firefox by changing the elem=... line, below, to: var elem = function (myId) {return document.getElementById(myId);} Could any of the theory gurus shed some light on this discrepancy? <body id=myBody onLoad="tryit()">

Hi: In FireFox and Netscape, images show placeholders while downloading. I don't like the way this looks. Is there any way to make it like IE where no placeholder is shown while image are downloading? Also, asp.net imagebutton shows pointer cursor rather than hand cursor in FireFox and Netscape. Is there any way to force it to a hand? Thanks,

I have a small javascript/html code below that demonstrates that problem I'm having in a larger program. I've tried all kinds of things to get it to work, but it just won't do what I want. I've tried setTimeout, setInterval. In this dumb, but valid example, i want to display an iframe that loads google. Before it loads I want to display a 'processing' indicator in green in the middle of the window. Then, when it is done, it is to turn...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
