Where is your code that is executing the script?
You might have to place an additional script at the end of your html
code that calls the script as the elements of page maynot be defined
when you actually call the script.
<!-- end of html code. Now for addition script -->
<script type="text/javascript">
call_my_functio n();
</script>
</body>
</html>
