navigator.javaE nabled always returns false in Mozilla/Opera

Hello;

I am trying to test changes to my site (made only on my local machine so
far) in IE v6, Mozilla 1.6, and Opera 7.5.

When I test "navigator.java Enabled in IE it corretly reports true/false
depending on whether javascript is enabled.

However, both Mozilla and Opera *always* return false. How can I properly
test to see if javascript is enabled/disabled in these two browsers? (If you
have a reference on the web, please point me to it as I've spent several
hours trying to find what I need.)

TIA.

Java and Javascript are different things
..javaEnabled == true means you the browser
can run Java *applets*.

Please take a look at my code. I made a script to scroll the contents of DIV tag. It works in IE, but not NN. I tried to use document.getElementById(id) function. It didn't work at all. I just want it to run in NN7.1 which is latest. Thank you in advance. <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>TEST</TITLE> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="Javascript"> <!--

Greetings, I'm having a problem when I try to GET a file from my server via xmlhttp when using Mozilla. With IE I can get any type of file fine, get/display headers fine, etc. With Mozilla, using the same HTML/JS it always returns no data (xmlhttp.responseText is null). When I try to get headers using Mozilla or display the http status code I get some obscure exception in the javascript console that I've given up on searching for an...

Can someone please help with a suggestion as to how I can keep the formatting (carriage returns) that the user enters into a memo field and then display that later. I figured I might be able to use: 'replace carriage returns with BRs comment=Replace(comment, chr(13), "<br>") but obviously net.! The <pre> tag doesn't sem to help either as the embedded return is

I wrote the function below to get the vertical scroll position of an anchor. That is, a URL of the form http://www.example.com/mypage.html#anchorname should scroll to the point on the page that has an anchor <a name="anchorname">...</a>). Doing this in Javascript is necessary in the presence of a dynamic HTML page having some hidden blocks. DHTML messes up the scroll position in Opera and Mozilla (but not IE) so I'm trying to fix it...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
