Hello.
I need to set a checkbox to the "checked" state and prevent the user from
unchecking it. I tried using "disabled", but then the value is not passed on
the Post to an ASP page.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

I teach HS computers and one of my kids has a web site with a textbox of
info that the user can scroll down and read. The problem is that users can
also enter text into it. Is there a way, or a better control, method, to
prevent user from entering text?
Thanks,
Jim

I have a form which the user must complete before closing. I have
disabled the window x button and use my own exit button. When selected
it checks to see if the user has completed the entries otherwise it
cancels the close.
However, the user can still right click on the task bar and close my
application.
Is there any way of preventing this....

Hello,
I am looking for a clever way to prevent someone from pasting copied text
outside of my app.
I know how to monitor the clipboard and get an WM_DRAWCLIPBOARD message when
text is stored in the clipboard... If only I could detect some kind of
outgoing message that the clipboard is about to paste, then I could check to
see if my app...

I dynamically create buttons and associate them with an event using
AddHandler.
I want all the button events to fire at one time, when the page is posted,
instead of when each button is clicked.
How I stop the buttons from posting back when they are clicked?
Thanks

Is there a way to prevent the double-click event on an element from causing
IE6 to select everything? Cancelling the event doesn't work.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
