If the C programs have UNIX system calls such as fork(), alarm(),
etc.., we should call it UNIX programs, not traditional C programs?
We couldn't compile the programs with system calls using VC++ compiler.
I need to compile it under UNIX platform. correct? any other
alternatives??

There are more than 1000 defined system calls in the Unix standard
specification, however, a majority of them are optional and the
availability of system calls are dependent on the OS implementation
itself.
The question I have is: How do you determine which system calls are
available on any Unix/Linux machine?

Hello,
I have a ListBox control on a form.
I add members of a class to the Items collection. They show up and I can
select them. The text shown is from my classes ToString override.
Now, later on I need to update this item. I find it in the Items collection
and update a member used by the ToString member function. However, the text
shown for the item in the ListBox does not change.

Hello,
I have a program written in C#.NET VS2005 that accesses a SQL
database/data table through a dataset. It was decided that a valued
defined as a smallint in SQL Server should be changed to a varchar. I
performed this change without problems. However, the C# program still
has the field defined as an integer type in VS2005. I cannot seem to
modify this property. How do I do this?

I have set of controls (Textboxes, checkboxes etc) along with the Grid on

I use BindingSource to populate both Grid and the set of Controls. User
selects the record in the grid and all controls are populated with data from
