hi,
I want to know about Self Organizing maps.T ounderstand the concept ,I need a small example which explains how clustering is done through self organizing maps?If any body implemented it plz send it to me.
Thanks in advance,

Have a look at our Posting Guidelines, specifically our Coursework and Assignment Guidelines. Can you ask a more pointed question about the algorithm or implementation that you aren't understanding?

A class Collector, it spawns several threads to read from serial port. Collector.get_data() will get all the data they have read since last call. Who can tell me whether my implementation correct? class Collector(object): def __init__(self): self.data = spawn_work_bees(callback=self.on_received) def on_received(self, a_piece_of_data):

Hi everybody, I don't know how to initialize the weight vector of each node in the tree. The input is a set of N data in M dimensions. I have to realize a software based on the article "S-TREE: self organizing trees for data clustering and online vector quantization", Marcos M.Campos, Gail A.Carpenter,2000. Thanks

Hi, at NC State University, my students and I are working on a project called "self-organizing databases," please see description below. I would like to use an open-source database system for implementation and would really appreciate your opinion on whether PostgreSQL is suitable for the project. In general, I am very impressed by the quality of PostgreSQL code and documentation, as well as by the support of the developer community. ...

Hi. I'm reworking a little app I wrote, in order to separate the data from the UI. As a start, I wanted to create a iron-clad data recepticle that will hold all the important values, and stand up to being queried by various sources, perhaps concurrently. In all likelihood, the app will never need anything that robust, but I want to learn to write it anyway, as an exercise. So here is my code. It's really simple, and I'm sure you can see my...

Hi, friends, I am implementing a protocol on top of 'asyncore.dispatcher' to send streaming multimedia data over TCP socket. However, I found that the throughput of my current implementation is surprisingly low. Below is a snippet of my code with a note that: the packet sent over the socket is of variable length, of which the first a couple bytes indicates the length of the packet. I implemented a 'var_str_to_int' function to get the...

Hi! The question of type checking/enforcing has bothered me for a while, and since this newsgroup has a wealth of competence subscribed to it, I figured this would be a great way of learning from the experts. I feel there's a tradeoff between clear, easily readdable and extensible code on one side, and safe code providing early errors and useful tracebacks on the other. I want both! How do you guys do it? What's the pythonic way? Are...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
