Linking a small Access database to and ASP file

4 New Member
Greetings guys and gals:

Before I jump off my roof I thought I'd find a forum such as this to ask my questions. I'm kinda like a driver that doesn't want to ask for instructions thus proven he/she is lost...well I'm lost and I know it's something minor....

I'm reconstructing my website that was made by someone else who I don't want to ask. My situation is that part of the website has personal ads and I've managed to bring all the data together....my only issue is that my page where the "details" go I don't know how to tell the database to go there. I mean the links show where to go but it's not going.

If anyone has time the website is www.thecookieproject.com this isn't my actual website but I'm experimenting until I go live. If you click on one of the personal ad photos or links you'll see what I mean and if you really want to check it out the site easiy downloads into FrontPage...Yes I know I should use Dreamweaver (right?).

I would truly appreciate your help as I'm a driver on the highway who's lost and is gravoling for help ;)

Thank you for reading

I have a win 2000 database of autographs and scanned photos. They are in the SAME directory. In the table, my "ImagePath" text field shows JUST the image name (i.e. "blank.jpg"). I have an image field that links to the ImagePath field. But it does not display in the form. I go in and delete the image field and add it back in and link it to the "blank.jpg" file (its a dummy jpg that says "Not Avail"). Then I make sure it is linked and not...

Hi!! Years ago I built a database to control the production of a little factory. The users wanted to work in a Windows Net workgroup so I created an mdb with all the tables and data an after that every user had his own mde linked to the main mdb. Year by year, progressively the number of records has been growing and the speed of the application has decreased strongly, because of the grrrreat number of records stored.

I need to import data from 720 csv files into an Access database so I can do some editing prior to loading into a SQL Server. These files came from data output from a mainframe on a monthly basis. There are 15 files created each month with each file containing specific data. What I started to do is store the files by year and then by month so I new when the data is based on. I have linked the table to the database and them append the...

Good morning... I have an Access front end that uses SQL Server linked tables. SQL Server uses Windows authentication. I have one Windows group that all Access users are a member of. I added that group to SQL Server logins and gave it public, datareader, and datawriter rights to the one database that's used. My front end is locked down, but I want to stop users from creating a new ..mdb and linking SQL Server tables through DSNs or...

Hi, All the records in my database will contain at least one picture. At the moment all the images are part of the database as ole objects although the database is way to big and there is only 12 records in it. I have been reading about linking images into the database and i would like to use the method linking via code this way the database will be as small as possible.

I have an Access 2003 application that is split into two .mdb files for the interfaces and data. This app is distributed on a CD to be used on computers that have no internet access. When someone needs an updated dataset the backend .mdb is refreshed from a load of Oracle tables and sent on CD so that the user only needs to replace a single file. The front end links to the tables in the back end. The problem is that the amount of data...

I'm having trouble here with Access 2007 and connecting to a different database. The code below works great IF the previous back-end database connection is still present and you are trying to connect to a new location (ie: datapath variable below). However, if you remove or even rename the old database, then launch your program, the code fails on the mytable.refreshlink line with an error 3044. (Description of that error is: 'C:\pc

I am converting an application from A97 to A2003. I have 2 tables created by another application as a Foxpro.dbf. The table has no index. The connect string in A97 is FoxPro 2.0;HDR=NO;IMEX=2;DATABASE=C:\Test It's really easy to connect to those tables in A97. I'm having difficulties in A2003. I'm trying to follow the instructions in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824264/.

Hi all, I have an app developed in Access 2000/2003 (2000 compatible). I have a routine to refresh table links. Both files are MDB files (the front end and back end). The code I use is as follows: DoCmd.TransferDatabase acLink, "Microsoft Access", datafile, acForm, table, table datafile = "c:\mydir\mybackend.mdb" The file that contains the code is c:\mydir\myfrontent.mdb

Hi, I have a perfect file called "Products.xls" that I link to my MS Access 2003 database and everytthing looks good in that file. When I view the same file after linking in my database the data values of records in "tblProducts" are incorrect. For example the tblProducts has a field called "PackageSize" as listed below. THe problem is that it displays the text correctly but if the field has numbers only it messes it up. I have set...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
