I don't think that storing PDF in the database is a good solution, instead store them in the file system and just store the path to it in the database...
If you really want to store PDF in the database you should use a BLOB (long binary i think in Oracle) column.

Hi Gitesh,

What is blob?
A BLOB (Binary Large Object) is an Oracle datatype that can hold up to 4 GB of data. Also see CLOB. BLOB's are handy for storing digitized information (eg, images, audio, video)

As said above, storing PDF in the database is not a good programming practise. It makes your database size to grow, often corrupts the stored contents in the event of slow connection.

Anyway, you might have your own reason to store PDF in the database, kindly refer to below attached links for further reading. Good luck and take care my fren.. :)

I have a website with an increasing amount of articles and news reports and so I am thinking of moving away from storing each article as a seperate page to having a single page and storing articles in a databasewhich are retrieved using a GET parameter. I see the advantage to me in using this approach as being making use of MySQL's fulltext search capability and less work needed when updating the design of the page. I'm not sure of a few...

Hi, I'm designing a website that will use XML to store all the content of my web pages. I will use a PHP script to parse the XML. Should I store the XML in a MySQL database or should I simply store the XML in *.xml files on my server? Which would would yield better performance? And would using one PHP script to parse all the pages be too much on one script (I'll have about 600 pages)? Thanks,

I'm building a system when one can upload a document to the website. I will be storing the document on the hard-drive for quick/easy access, but I was also thinking of storing it in an existing database since most of the sites information is all stored there. As well there would be only one place to worry about backing up. And if the file on the hard-drive was ever missing or became corrupted, I could restore it form tha database. Is...

I can successfully write the binary data to an image data type, and successfully retrieve it, but when I attempt to play the file in media player after retrieving it, I get the file type isn't supported. I must be losing something somewhere, but the byte lengths match up. Is there some encoding I need to do. Please take a look, and suggestions would be appreciated.

But when I thought of getting the selected value from the...

Hi, I have a situation where I have created an object that contains fields, properties and functions. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
