Need a Java project

Hi.

I'm a veteran mainfamer, MQ'er, etc, with a little Java that I've picked
up here & there over the last few years. I'm planning on taking the Sun
Certified Business Component Developer exam next year & I'm looking for
a Java training project, to really get a little more time coding.

Just needs to be Java (no J2EE) & doesn't need to be anything but Java &
I really don't want much/any GUI.

Anyone got any ideas ?

THX. GH.

Create command-line based text-only tools similar to what DOS and Unix
have so that there can be a set of these available to all platforms that
works consistenty.

First reaction - Huh ?
Second reaction - Think I'll print this. THX.

You're welcome. It's something I've always kind of wanted to do, but have
never had the time to get down to starting on it. I hope you'll consider
making it an open source project, but please by all means don't feel like I'm
pressuring you (it's just another suggestion, that's all; if you want to
charge for it, then I personally have no problem with you making a profit
from your hard work).

I had the same reaction. I read your post out of curiosity but then I
started to think about it and that would be useful.

A few of you may recognize me from the recent posts I have made about Indy <http://www.indyproject.org/indy.html> Those of you coming to .net from the Delphi world know truly how unique and "huge" Indy is both as a project, in support, development, and use. But Indy is new to the .net world. Indy is a HUGE library implementing over 120 internet protocols and standards and comes with complete source. Its an open source project, but not...

hello, I want to validate an xml by means of a schema (xsd). To do that first of all I´m using a SchemaFactory. The problem is that if I run the code in Windows all works fine, but If I run it in Linux there is an error. The code that fails is the following: SchemaFactory factory = SchemaFactory.newInstance(XMLConstants.W3C_XML_SCHEMA_NS_URI); I´m sure that code is ok. In fact, I´ve found that in several...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
