Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good image scaling program for PHP 4. What
I'm really looking for is just a function that takes an image file and
a width to which to scale the image and outputs the scaled image.

I've got users uploading a file, which I then want resize, make a thumbnail
out of, then delete. The image and thumbnail are working fine, but when I
try to delete the image, I get an error: "The process cannot access the file
"c:\inetpub\wwwroot\pictures\1\21_orig.jpg" because it is being used by
another process. "
I'm using the Image.Dispose() method before trying to delete it; how do I
free up this image?

I'm using wia in a vb.net project to capture images from a scanner.. This
works fine.
However, I want to control the way that images are scanned - ie B+W,
Greyscale and resolution etc, but can't work out how to. My code for
scanning is below (sorry it's a bit messy - it's been chopped and changed
around a lot)... There seems to be very little documentation on WIA, can
anybody help me with this ???

programmatically using C# in my web page after uploading. I know that
Photoshop can do it but I need to do it dynamically in my web page. I tried
doing it myself with some of the Bitmap thumbnail instructions but the
resulting image is very bad. I need a file reduction routine that creates a

I am trying to do a simple (ha ha) bit of image replacement, so that the
'v' in a string of text inside an <h3> is replaced with an image of a
tick that looks like a 'v' to fit with a company logo (imagine
"Ferretweave" with the 'v' replaced by a tick instead of the letter).
I have tried various things, but have not had any success yet, mainly
because all of the IR techniques I have seen seem to depend on the

Hi all,
I have one EMF image which I want to convert to BMP. I want to scale
the BMP and want to display it in my viewport area. If scaled BMP
doesn't fit inside the viewport area then I want to change the scale
such that image can fit inside it.
If device is screen then my image gets scaled properly and fits inside
the viewport area. But if my device is printer then my image gets
scaled properly but it doesn't fit inside the viewport...

hi.....i have this script (below #1) that is linked to another php file SimpleImage.php (#2) im trying to get it to work on my uploaded images but it keeps coming up errors.....i haven't altered anything except for:
$image->load('picture.jpg');
$image->resize(546,403);
$image->save('picture2.jpg');
I put the variables i need in there within " " instead of ' ' and i always get a error message.....am i doing something or cant...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
