Tomcat: form-based authentication problem

When I open a new browser in a form-based authentication application
this new browser window is not authenticated as the opener
window is...

I have set the content type of the document that I open in this new
browser window to application/vnd.ms-excel...

Can you tell me if that's a normal behaviour and if it's possible to
avoid this? (I mean, if I'm going to be able to open this new browser
window, with the application/vnd.ms-excel document, without having to
stablish the username and password again)

Thanks in advance!

We are getting new computers at work and I got the word today that pc-lan (network admins) do not want IIS installed on ANY machine. We are primarily a Java development house, so they will not balk about me installing Tomcat. Can I run PHP from Tomcat the same (or close to) as IIS? Thanks. --

I've transferred a set of folders(containing jsp files) into tomcat's webapps directory(to /webapps/bob , /webapps/sue) and i have added the folders bob, sue in my server.xml(in the context path). When i am trying to run jsp files from my browser, it works fine. But, the following jsp files reports some exceptions which is quite hard to understand. Here is...

Hello, I've spent a few days trying to get Apache and Tomcat work together via JK module. First I followed the following HOWTO link: http://www.johnturner.com/howto/winxp-howto.html and managed to get Tomcat static html page load from Apache server without specifying 8080 port, like this:

I've installed (from the zip file) tomcat 6.0.14 on my pc, but I can't get my webapp to run. It is a very simple HTML form and java servlet and it is on the webapps directory of tomcat, but it won't run. it won't even call up the tomcat home page with "localhost:8080' , but it does say "It Works!" though. I read that turning off user control and restarting might help, but I don't trust it. Any ideas?

Can someone explain the differences between setting cookies on TomCat or a Weblogic webserver? I discovered today during a deployment to Weblogic that a cookie can be set and retrieved in a single session. But, once the browser session is restarted the "onload="getCookie()" returns an error. In Tomcat however, it works perfectly. When the cookie is manually distoyed prior to form load, no errors are returned. But, when attempting to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
