I am trying to get Java v1.4.2 to use my PCI add-on serial port.
So far, everything I try gives me
javax.comm.NoSuchPortException
at
javax.comm.CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifier(CommPortIdentifier.java:105)
at
org.sf.javaemu.Serial.SerialCommunications.openConnection(UnknownSource)
at javaemu.main.init(Unknown Source)

I wrote a program that communicate with SerialComm. In every 300
milliseconds, my program continuously send & receive data via the serial
port once the program starts.
My program is once in a while, the serial port seems corrupted because when
my data is sent, it doesn't go through the serial port, so as same to
receive process. In order to fix this, I have to close the port and reopen
the port again.
Why?!! Is there any way to fix...

I am looking for a small program or two that allows me to see what is being
sent to a device on the serial port, and the response coming in the serial
port from the device.
When I have COM1 open, it seems that
the program I made don't work because they need a COM port to themselves??
I
always get error messages saying something like "unable to open com port"
when
it's already open.........

Hi
I've a problem with I/O blocking on my serial port at this particular
scenario...
1.I've developed a driver to communicate with some device using Serial
Comm (overlapped I/O).
2.I'm able to send and receive messages perfectly.
3.As part of integration few more drivers also exist inorder to
communicate with different devices.
4.I'm getting I/O blocking and application hangs up for my driver,
when a particular driver is invoked before...

I am trying to get setup to write a realtime program for serial port communication. Problem im having is that sun say that java.comm is no longer available and that rxtx site just baffles me. I tried downloading several of the files but the zip folders where empty. Is there an alternative that anyone can recomment or even a sample script that someone has developed?

I'm running a small program that should list all of the comm ports that are available on the computer. The only problem is that nothing is recognized. I've stepped through the program and it jumps over the while .....hasMoreItems. When I set the hasMoreItems to false it executes it. There are no syntax errors and it runs completely, it just doesn't give me the info I need.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
