Anyone using J2ME in non-commercial applications?

We are looking at using J2ME in a embedded device that will
be deployed in an industrial application and I've been doing some
research to see how practical J2ME would be for our application.
Most of the devices I've come across that use J2ME are consumer
devices like phones and PDAs. I would be interested in hearing
from anyone who might be using J2ME on devices other than
consumer type devices.

What kind of processor are you using? How much memory? Does
J2ME stand the test of running for 24x7 for weeks/months at a
time? Did you find any big challenges to overcome when porting/writing
your app using J2ME?

We are going to be using a "trimmed down" Motorola 855 processor
with 32 MB of memory running Linux. Has anyone done J2ME on
this platform? How easy was it to port the CVM?

Thanks,
Dave.

Hi, all! I am new with J2ME. I have application that has form with 2 commands (exit and select). All UI uses are high level API, and it is very important to leave it high-level. This application works fine on some devices. But at Samsung mobile phone, I have a problem. In this phone my 2 commands appear under menu command, and then I can

How do you deal with floating points in J2ME? From my understanding MIDP 1.0 does not allow you to use float or double primitives. I want to be able to perform a calculations which give float or double values. Thanks

1) for KSOAP, Add for web service methods. 2) for JSR-172, leave defaults for web methods 3) in J2ME, comment out the User-Agent setting, or IIS will reject the call with a 400/BAD Request/Invalid Header Name error (J2ME will send two user-agents otherwise). Note I can only successfully do this with KSOAP, because it comes with source code

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
