Hi, I'm using C# with Visual Studio .NET 2003. In my project, I have a class library with some custom windows forms controls. The namespace for these controls is "WinMar.GUI". If I try to use them in another project in a form in the "WinMar.Client" namespace, the Forms Designer will generate a erroneous declarations in the form. It will add the member with the full type and namespace, and it will fail to compile with the error:

Hi, We have a form designed in the VS designer in C# and everytime we build on different machiens its chainging the .Location and .Size properties yet we are not changing anything in this. We have locked the form, we have set AutoScaleBaseSize and so on to false and its still having a mind of its own. Why can we not have STATIC form SIZES across machines?

This IDE is driving me nuts. I needed another button so I copied an existing one, changed the Text and the id and position by drag and drop. Well then I run and get the following: Control 'Button19' of type 'Button' must be placed inside a form tag with runat=server Can the IDE not do what it is supposed to do. It seems that it is a fight to make it do anything or did I do something wrong? It would seem silly to have to create a...

I'm having some problem with my Visual Studio.NET 2003 (.NET 1.1 SP1) install. I am unable to use the web forms designer with any aspx file whose form class inherits from a base class. I'm implementing the page controller design pattern and everything has been working fine until now. My form inherits from a base class called CampusNET.CampusPage. The class exists, is included in the project and compiles just fine. If I replace the base...

I've got a project I've been working on for a few weeks. I've been using the BindingSource control - I've got four of them on this particular form. This morning I went to view the report in the designer and got: Could not find type 'LandarcBL.Budget'. Please make sure that the assembly that contains this type is referenced. If this type is a part of your development project, make sure that the project has been successfully built....

I am newbie learning wxPython. I tried using GUI designer called wxGlade. When it generated code I couldnt get the same level of flexibility as writing the code by oneself. Any view on what you think about using GUI designer tools. Every help is appreciated.

I don't use the Form Designer. Is there any way to disable it completely? I find it annoying that every time I create a new form, or double-click on an existing one, Visual Studio uses the Designer by default. It would be nice if I could turn that off. -TC

Hi I have a created a custom usercontrol which inherites an Excel like usercontrol. In this usercontrol I have a custom property called SpreadTemplate, which is an enum with (at the moment) two members called None and Pipeline. When I set this property at design time it sets up the activesheet with a number of columns, rows, headers etc. This is all fine and working as it is supposed to. The problem is that all this information gets

Yesterday Visual Studio gave me a strange error both at compiletime and at designtime that had no obvious connection to anything I had changed recently. After some effort tracking down the problem I discovered first a workaround, then the real cause of the problem. I would like to understand why what I am doing is frowned upon by Visual Studio and how to do this properly. My application is in one solution; supporting libraries including...

I just loaded VS 2008 on xp pro. Tried to create ASP .net pages. The designer won't let me drag and drop? It seems to be sequential. I can't drag controls on the form to position them, I have to use <enteror <tabor <spaceto position them. And that's not easy! I'm sure I'm doing something wrong! Is there a setting or something I need to change?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
