what is the literal for the largest character value in java?
ie.

111 in binary is representing 7 (4+2+1) <-- this is 3 bit

now java is 32 or 64 bit

The largest value of the primitive type 'char' is 65535 in decimal, ffff in
hexadeximal, 177777 in octal, 111111111111111 1 in binary. For reasons havig
to do with Unicode/ISO 10646 you would normall not use anything higher than
65533/fffd/177775/111111111111110 1.

There are classes under java.nio which can handle much larger ranges, which
is useful if you are a Chinese philologist or an ethnographer aboard Capt/
Picard's Enterprise.

Hence the term, Enterprise Edition. :)
