Hi,
I am new to java.io.* classes, and have a situation where I can't make a
copy of my binary files. Txt are being copied with no trouble but when it
comes to binaries i guess I am missing something since their structured is
changed and are not read by an application correctry (Word, ACDSee etc.).
At the moment, I have a JSP doing something like:
response.setCon tentType("APPLI CATION/OCTET-STREAM");
response.setHea der("Content-Disposition", "attachment ; filename=\"" +
filename + "\"");
java.io.FileInp utStream fileInputStream = new
java.io.FileInp utStream(dbBean .getDataPath() + filename);
int i;
while ((i=fileInputSt ream.read()) != -1) {
out.write(i); }
Please advise of where I am making a mistake or what other class and how
should I use.
Thanks!

I don't know what your looking for, but this is how to copy files, ascii or
binary
import java.io.*;
String filename;
InputStreamRead er in = new InputStreamRead er(filename);
OutputStreamRea er out = new InputStreamRead er(filename);
int i = 0;
boolean endNow = false;
while (!endNow)
{
i = in.read();
if (i == -1)
endNow = true;
else
out.write(i);
}
I dunno if thats what you want. But there it is anyway. Hope it helps.

I use the same but find this quicker..
int i=0;
byte[] bytes = new byte[32*1024];
while ( (i= in.read(bytes)) !=-1 )
{
out.write(bytes );
}
I use a 32K byte array and read/ write in chunks.. Saves a lot of IO

JSPs are not suited for returning binary data. There is a technical
reason for this, the exact details escape me at the moment but the
upshot is that a JSP automatically starts using the output stream for
text. There was a tech tip from Sun that made the same mistake a while
back.
If you want to return binary data you should either use a servlet or
have your JSP create the response under a web server and forward the
request to it via the client.

Does anyone know of a way to use PHP /w Authorize.net AIM without using

Hello,
I don't know if it is only me but I was sure that header("Location:url")
redirects the browser instantly to URL, or at least stops the execution of

browser send his reply to the header instruction. So an exit(); after each

I want viewers to compare state laws on a single subject.
Imagine a three-column table with a drop-down box on the top. A viewer
selects a state from the list, and that state's text fills the column below.
The viewer can select states from the drop down lists above the other two
columns as well. If the viewer selects only one, only one column fills. If
the viewer selects two states, two columns fill. Etc.
I could, if appropriate, have...

1. When the user presses the back button and returns to a form he filled
the form is reseted. How do I leave there the values he inserted?
2. When the user comes back to a page where he had a submitted POST data
the browser keeps telling that the data has expired and asks if repost. How
to avoid that? I tried registering all POST and GET vars as SESSION vars but

Hi All,
What is the PHP equivilent of Oracle bind variables in a SQL statement, e.g.
select x from y where z=:parameter
Which in asp/jsp would be followed by some statements to bind a value to :parameter
I dont like the idea of making the SQL statement on the fly without binding parameters as I
dont want a highly polluted SQL cache.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
