RMI failure | HELP Required

Hi All,

I am not sure if this is the best forum to post this query but I am
stuck with a problem that I need immediate help with.

We have our client machines located at a remote place A which access
the servers through a SSH Tunnel over a t3 protocol. The tunnel seems
to be working fine. However, when we try to make a RMI call, it gives
us the following exception :-

java.net.Connec tException: t3://venus:7001: Bootstrap to:
'venus/10.210.17.11:70 01' over: 't3' got an error or timed out

Has anybody seen such a problem earlier ?

Oh yes, we are using a Weblogic server.

Any pointers / comments ?

Thanks in advance :)

Regards
Aish

I am having a problem with a regular backup of an SQL Server (MSDE 2000) database to a local drive. I initiate the backup once a week, by issuing the required T-SQL, via ADO. In this case, the T-SQL is: BACKUP DATABASE GPRS_Dimensioning_Archive TO local_backup WITH RETAINDAYS=21, NAME='GDA_20040706' Note that "local_backup" is a file...

Lately I've seen alot of C and C++ code (not my own) which doesn't do any checking if memory obtained by new or malloc is valid or if they return NULL pointers. Why does most people not care about doing this kind of error checking? When I used to learn the language I was told always to check "if (p != NULL)" and return a error otherwise. I...

I'm sure this has been asked a few times, but I'm still not sure. I want to create a function to simplify getting a reference to a CMap in a map. This is what I do now in code: std::map<unsigned int, CMap*>::iterator ThisMapIt = World.Maps.find( ThisPlayer.Character.Map ); if ( ThisMapIt != World.Maps.end() )

I've written a piece of code that uses sockets a lot (I know that sockets aren't portable C, this is not a question about sockets per se). Much of my code ended up looking like this: if (function(socket, args) == -1) { perror("function"); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } I feel that the ifs destroy the readability of my code. Would it be
