Hi,
I would like to start a new process and be able to read/write from/to
it. I have tried things like...
import subprocess as sp
p = sp.Popen("cmd.exe", stdout=sp.PIPE)
p.stdin.write("hostname\n")
however, it doesn't seem to work. I think the cmd.exe is catching it.

I am trying to launch a command-line program that came with a program called Live Stats. This command-line program is used to automate configuration of Live Stats. In order to test this, I am just calling the program with no arguments, which just returns some "how to use" text, and requires no user input. The problem is that once I do a .start on the process, the program just hangs indefinitely. I can see it running in the process list on...

Please look at the "what I've already done" section of this message
before responding to it: I believe that I've done everything that the
people who experience this error are typically told to do.
I have created an ASP.NET web service that I have running on my
development machine, and am trying to get it to run on my test server.
Both machines are running Windows 2000 SP4, IIS 5, and the .NET 2.0
framework.
When I attempt to access...

My server is running under Windows SBS 2003. I've deleted some directories
that was containing Outlook Web Access files, it was done few months ago by
mistake. Now I want to use OWA for some distant users. So, I tried the
procedure on the MS website:

I've done all of the Method 1, but the files have not been re-created, and I
get this Event:

I have a requirement from a customer to run some command line applications
from a service. I have most of my service coded and I've come across an
issue with the important part of the application, naturally.
When my service tries to start the command line application, I get an Access
is Denied error unless I set UseShellExecute to false; in which case the
external command line application does not execute.
The structure of my...

Hello,
I started to use IIS 6.0 and created a web site (anonymous authentication
enabled with domain account). This web site contains several apps (web
services and "plain" web apps) and I want those apps to use its own app pool
running with its own domain account (identity) rather than default setting
(network service).
All but one of these apps are ASP.NET 1.1, the other is ASP.NET 2.0
Since my first attempt to make this work...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
