Hello
I have an Access database that is used for a station computer. Now I want to
update this database for a small network for about 4 computers (to share
this database). I know that I can link an Access databse to a MySQL server.
My question is:
It is possible to use one of those for computers as a MySQL server then 4
computers will use 4 copies of this Access application to connect to the
MySQL server to share data.

After some basic research, I am still somewhat unclear on how Access would
be used in a workgroup setting. Basically, we want to run 10 MS Access
clients to access an MS Access database on a standalone PC running Windows
XP Pro. Do we need SQL server or some other application running on this
"server"?
We need to have
1) multiple people accessing the database simultaneous (should be no

Do I get more scalability if I split my database? The way I calculate
things now, I'll be lucky to get 100,000 records in my Access 2003 mdb.
Here some math:
Max mdb/mde size = 2000 x 1024 = 2,048,000k
Let's say on average each record in the database consumes 15k
2,048,000/15 = 136,533 records

Hi,
I have a web service that returns an object, call it myReturn, which
contains information regarding payments, etc.... I have a new
specification, to add a new property to myReturn to handle some extra
calculations (ie. for amortization). However, I have existing clients
with proxies based on the old object definition. How can I make sure
that adding this extra data being sent back doesnt cause the old
clients to blow up?

Hello -
I'm running PG 8.1 on Windows XP.
I've installed the server to run as a service.
The psql command fails to connect to the server, although I can connect with other clients.
When I enter psql -d mydb -h localhost -U admin
I get the following response:
psql: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061)
Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting
