Please excuse, I can't get the links at the text "register online" and
"registration form" to be blue.
I even commented out the a:visited.
They still are kind of magenta or fuschia.
Author mode is set for Page style sheet, Page fonta and colors, My link
style. I had previously not checksd My link style, checked it because of
soomething in Opera support knowledgebase? Maded no difference.
How can this be? I have Opera 7.50 for WIndows. Emptied the history, set
all cache to zero or off, reloaded.

They're blue here.

Because you visited the pages at the link already. Even if you
didn't click the link, purely the fact that you've been there
(you made the pages, didn't you? So you probably had them in
your browser) makes them purple.

I looked both in Firebird and in Opera, both blue.
Don't worry. They're only blue when you've visited them.
If you want them to remain blue always, also after visiting,
(which is _not_ advisable), you have to set the styles for
a:visited to the same colour as a:link. Commenting them out
will make them revert to default colours, which is purple for
visited.

Many thanks for your responses, Peter; and also to Els.
I guess it's some setting in my browser.
Of course I want them to be blue when unvisited, and another color after
visiting.
Will be patient and seek help from Opera gurus.

You could be experiencing a browser quirk. Since I often want to check
styling effects of visited/unvisited links on pages that I'm editing and
viewing, I often include a link to a resource that I absolutely won't have
loaded (e.g. to something that doesn't exist). That gives me at least one
unvisited link on a page, without having to mess with my browser history.
