Footer stuck in middle of page in Firefox/Opera

2 New Member
Hey everyone...new to web design and this forum so "help me help you" as to the normal procedures.

Page: http://voicetalkinc.com

DOCTYPE: XHTML Transitional

Layout: CSS

Both pages are validated.

My footer is getting stuck in the middle of the page in Firefox and Opera, but works fine in IE7. I'm assuming that the previous are operating correctly, so any suggestions?

Thanks in advance and let me know if I need to post any code.

I just got back from a grueling experience so I'm pretty tired but...

You have the footer both relatively positioned and absolute positioned at the same time. Which is it going to be? You can't do both.

The abs pos property will override the rel one, though, which will remove it from the normal flow but it will rise to its next positioned element. FF and Opera are performing correctly while IE is not, as expected.

I can look at this more after I've had a nap.

As a side issue, mobysurf, I notice that you specify Content-Type as application/xhtml+xml in a META tag -- that, in itself, will not determine how the content is served -- your page is actually being served as Content-Type text/html. Visit Serving XHTML Documents for an explanation.
