help! div height problem code, netscape/mozilla

Here's the code in question. Even as the only div in a page, mozilla e
al will render this as 100%. I tried removing the background image
removing padding, doing ANYTHING -- even hard-coding the height in th
HTML page itself. Nothing works. Help!

What screen resolution have you viewed it at? That div needs 751
pixels to be displayed so at anything that doesn't give you at least
that much vertical space it's going to appear to be 100% high.
#right {
position : absolute;
font-family : Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size : 11px;
line-height : 16px;
Don't specify font-size in pixels and really don't specify line-height
in pixels. Also try to avoid Verdana. Google this group for the
hundreds of previous discussions on why.
left : 665px;
top : 15px;
width : 200px;
height : 516px;
padding : 100px 15px;
So you have a block that's 526px tall, plus 100px padding top and
bottom, plus 10px borders top and bottom (from below) plus it's
positioned 15px down from the containing block. That's
516 + 100 + 100 + 10 + 10 + 15 = 751px. So no one using 1024x768 or
less is likely to be able to fit the whole thing into their browser
window.

Internet Explorer gets this wrong (always in IE5.x, if your doctype
trigger Quirks mode in IE6) and includes the padding and border inside
the width so the box only needs 516 + 15 = 531 pixels to be fully
seen.
border-style : solid;
border-left-width : 10px;
border-left-color : #cabe8e;
border-top-width : 10px;
border-top-color : #cabe8e;
border-right-width : 10px;
border-right-color : #cabe8e;
border-bottom-width : 10px;
border-bottom-color : #cabe8e;
You do realise that this could be shortened to
border: 10px solid #cabe8e;
float : left;
display : inline;

What's the point of these? Absolutely positioned elements can not be
floated are automatically display: block; so these rules will be
ignored.

After following Microsofts admonition to reformat my system before doing a final compilation of my app I got many warnings/errors upon compiling an rtf file created in word. I used the Help Workshop program: hcw.exe that's included with Visual Basic. This exact same file compiled perfectly with no notes, warnings or errors prior to reformatting my system. Prior to the reformatting, I copied the help.rtf file onto a CD and checked the box to...

A question for gui application programmers. . . I 've got some GUI programs, written in Python/wxPython, and I've got a help button and a help menu item. Also, I've got a compiled file made with the microsoft HTML workshop utility, lets call it c:\path\help.chm. My question is how do you launch it from the GUI? What logic do I put behind the "help" button, in other words. I thought it would be os.spawnv(os.P_DETACH,...

Is there a way to get help the way you get it from the Python interpreter (eg, 'help(dir)' gives help on the 'dir' command) in the module cmd.Cmd? I know how to add commands and help text to cmd.Cmd but I would also like to get the man-page-like help for classes and functions. Does anyone know how to do that? Thanks. Sarir

I have just had to upgrade to Access 2003 as Access 97 EMail (SendObject) doesn't work when loaded on Windows XP. I'm finding my way around Access 2003 but my biggest problem is getting information. When I bought Access 1.0 many years ago, I got a paper manual and an excellent help file with all you needed to know. With Access 97 the manual came as a 'Building Applications' document on the CD and I still had the excellent help. With Access...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
