Sorry, yet another NS7/IE6 question...

Hi all,

I'd be really grateful for some help here. I'm trying to work out how to
overcome the differences I see between IE6 and NS7 on the menu on this page:

www.nowpc.co.uk

(This is a redesign of a very old site. I've worked with CSS/XHTML for a
long
time now, but I'm trying some new layout stuff with this site - at least new
for me. Please understand that the
site is very much in construction, and the issue I'm struggling with is
specific to the top menu and how it displays. Validation and accessibility
are far from forgotten, but I'm working on layout and content right now.)

The menu looks the way I intend in IE6, but there's this maddening overlap
at
the top in NS7. I've mucked with margins and paddings until I really am
going to explode, and damn it I just don't get it. I've tried walking away
and coming back. I've tried coffee, coke, books and a thousand websites. I
seem to have a very nasty mental block, and I'd really appreciate some help!

Really, thanks in advance,
Neil

Try it with a DocType Declaration. Specifically this one:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"

Blimey, thanks Gus. Can't believe it didn't occur to me... another DOH! I
knew it would be simple, but my head was a shed. Many thanks again - now I
can get on!

I have read a number of posts on the use of eval() in Javascript, and I agree that its use is questionable. But it does beg the following question: "How arbitrary does a string need to be before the use of eval() is required to execute it?" Given the following code, I'm able to evaluate/execute most expressions like: "a.b.c.d()"

I am "learning" C# and have run into a problem that, though I can work around it, I would like to know what the *right* way to handle the issue is. I have created an "Info" struct and assigned certain default values to it. I have assigned this struct to a TreeView node via the Tag field. In my "AfterSelect" processing call, I am casting the node tag value to my "Info" struct. When I look at the fields they are set to the default values...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
