IE6 Problem, inconsistent display, other stuff....

I'm sorry to barge right into a new newsgroup with a problem, but
though I'm old to many things, I'm new to CSS.

Here are two web pages. Apparently, they don't display correctly in IE6
under Windows. Both the HTML and the CSS validate with no errors, no
warnings. Both of them display correctly with Mozilla 1.2.1 and KDE
Conqueror, both versions a couple of years old.

<http://www.alevans.com/pyf/index.html>

The top heading doesn't display right.

The text to the right of the picture doesn't display consistently.
Sometimes, it is invisible.

<http://www.alevans.com/pyf/images1.html>

This is typical of the other pages. Again, the top heading doesn't
display correctly. Neither do the navigation menu elements at the top
and bottom right.

The style sheet is at

<http://www.alevans.com/pyf/pyf.css>

Obviously, I have done something that seems legitimate, but isn't:-)

Thanks for any help you can offer....

I suppose it is in your css.
I took out the "div.main" before the h1.
Then it looked all right to me. In IE6 the boc "Go to"
isn´t completely visible

Hi, I am basing this upon my study of the array_search and array_keys functions in www.php.net and www.zend.com and www.nyphp.org. I have this array, $this->propertyArray, which I have passed into a class as a mocked-up version of the same formatting as _GET and _POST arrays inasmuch as the keys are variable names and vals are the variable values. Here is the print_r printout of $this->propertyArray for example: Array (

Cracow, 20.09.2004 Hello, I need to implement a library containing a hierarchy of classes together with some binary operations on objects. To fix attention, let me assume that it is a hierarchy of algebraic matrices with the addition operation. Thus, I want to have a virtual base class class Matr;

I've got an A2K continuous form based on a query of 2 tables. The query returns results if the field "Outstanding" = Yes. The form's recordset type is set to Inconsistent Updates. If the user changes "Outstanding" to No, then the form automatically refreshes itself, displaying only the records with Outstanding set to Yes. How do I stop this automatic refreshing? I want the records the user may change to No to stay on the form. ...

Our web service was working fine until we installed .net Framework 1.1 service pack 1. Uninstalling SP1 is not an option because our largest customer says service packs marked as "critical" by Microsoft must be installed on their servers. Now german Umlaute (ä, ü, ö) and quotes are returned incorrectly in SOAP fault responses. This can be easily verified: Implement the following in a web service method (just raises a SOAPException with a...

I am learning C, having fun with strings & pointers at the moment! The following program is my solution to an exercise to take an input, strip the first word, and output the rest. It works fine when you give it 2 or more words, but when there's only 1 word the results vary depending on whether it's on Windows or Linux: under MSVC it displays no output (as it should); under gcc/Linux it instead gives "Segmentation fault". Any ideas...

Hi All, When could be the possible reasons that could make a database inconsistent? I was told by somebody that it could become inconsistent if you " force all the applications to a close on that database and transactions are not committed or rollbacked" I infact, don't believe it, because i suppose when we do a "force

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
