My CSS, your opinion

Hi everybody!

I have three questions, maybe somebody could help me with it.

1. "If you have a minute or two..."
I usually do not do a lot with CSS, but I decided to have my site run
on pure xhtml and css. Now I made it, but I do not know, whether I
"coded" a good css or not. If somebody has some minutes free, could
you please post your opinion on my css, which you will find here:

http://michaelsremarks.com/textpatte....php?s=default

(Of course, everybody who will help me to make this css-file better,
will be mentioned in my "Thanks go to..." - Article!)

2. "If you know that by chance..."
Is there a website/program out there, which can help me to make my css
not only look good, but also which controlls it on errors?

3. "Maybe..."
Is there a website out there, which really gives usefull tips for
creating and using css? I did read a lot of selfhtml & similar sites,
but their information is too general...

Thanks a lot,

Michael

Ups, it is gone now!
How can I avoid this effect: Go to my website at
http://michaelsremarks.com. In the navigation-bar on the right side,
click "Campus" and look at the ugly thing that comes out. Is it
possible to somehow change my css to make it look better?

Sidebar is still too small, I rather used ctr+contextmenu

HUH?
to search the
link, than scanning trough links. even if link is seconf one on page.

BTW, I see some links go out of link list on main page, particularly
"A n m e r k u n g e n".

Set width of navigation-bar suing em unit, and make sure none go over
borders. Be sure to left some space on right as someone might use wider
font.
Okay, it's now set to 12em.
You really should use something between those links, I really thought I
had pressed link "Campus Damage", but it was just campus.
Strange, they should be in a list each under the other one...
It sure looks wider than 700px, are you sure you didn't do something to
it?

In the meantime I changed it to 80% of screen with a maximum-width of
1100px!

More you can find?

BTW: I really have to say thank you to you. You are doing a great job
helping me manage this css!

font in that menu was too small to read nicely, and items too near one
another. So as I know I was looking link Campus, I searched it, intead of
scanning trough links. Nobody could do that in real life.

And if <br> is ignored? Use list (ul) element to show link list, you can
hide bullet using CSS.

Well, that is nice. I sure wasn't expecting positive feedback... (usually
I limit critic to one page, because that is enaough to most people...)

The war of the OSes was won a long time ago. Unix has always been, and will continue to be, the Server OS in the form of Linux. Microsoft struggled mightily to win that battle -- creating a poor man's DBMS, a broken email server and various other /application/ servers to try and crack the Internet and IS markets. In the case where they didn't spend their own money to get companies to

Hi, I am working on an application, which will run embedded without an OS. The app is build up out of a couple of well defined parts. At first I wanted to keep those parts seperated and use opaque data types to transfer information in between them. At some stage I was stuck and needed to make a variable global, and I also needed to make the struct declaration public to some other parts. Looking through the code I found out that lots...

i would like the comunity's opinion on validating a Webform. I was wondering should i validate data that the user enters on a Webform via a Backend process like SQL Server 2000 or should I use Javascript to validate the data? Or is there another option such as creating .neT classes? I can use Javascript files to validate the data. If I use this method I eliminate of having to go to the server, validate the data, then come back and redraw...

I'm currently creating a database class, which contains a member called Open(). With this method users can open different databases. When a user tries to open a database which happens to be secured with useraccounts (username, password etc), the user should be notifed to login. Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
