How to load different stylesheets based on monitor <screen> resolution

For the last year, I've been using a 3 column div with header layou
using overflow scroll to simulate frames. At 1024X768 and greater
everything works well. But, at 800x600 on a 14" monitor, it look
pretty junky. For a while now I've ignored it, seeing that percentag
of users using that configuration shrinking, but I'd like to fix it b
loading a separate stylesheet for users at 800x600 and below.

Does anyone have a script, or can point me to one, that can do that
Tips? Pointers? Opinions? I want to hear them.

I've read previous posts and know it is "bad form" to change a user's screen resolution to fit your program's needs. My situation is very different. I have a user with a laptop resolution of 1680x1050. When they dock the laptop, the external monitor connects and uses 1900x1200 resolution. They need a program to do the following: 1 - Detect the current screen resolution.

Hello, I developed an application for a user who uses a screen resolution of 800x600. My screen resolution is 1680x1050. In haste, I shrunk all the fonts to 6.75 so that the app (vb2005) would not appear too large on the users monitor. But the app is very small on my monitor. I also created an application in an Access ADP on my workstation for the same user. When the user opens the app on her workstation/monitor, the app does not...

I googled and searched in archive. All I can find is finding resolution with Tkinter and pygame. Any idea to find monitor resolution with standard python module? I can check from output of: xprop -root _NET_DESKTOP_GEOMETRY(CARDINAL) . The problem is when you use Beryl or Xgl, it is not correct anymore because Beryl or Xgl set this value from amount of workspaces multiplied by monitor or screen resolution.

In today's market, what's a good screen resolution that I can pretty much count on as being the minimum? This is kind of a 'fuzzy' question in that I'm interested in the biggest screen resolution that I can be pretty sure most people who buy a computer today (within the last year or two) will have a graphic card that supports it. For example, is 1024 x 768 x 32bits pretty much supported on most PC computers today?

I want to load a different swf in PHP based on the viewer's screen resolution. All would be fine if I could get the screen resolution in a variable in PHP. Problem is that after I done a bit of a digging that this can be only done through javascript(or so most claim) and to pass the resolution from javascript to PHP you would need to refresh the page again (to put the resolution in the URL or in a coockie) The other solution is to use ajax and...

Hi, I have a 314 x 190 png which I want displayed basically halfway between the end of some form fields and the side of the #wrapper. So I put it in a div <div style='position:absolute;left:45%;top:50%;'> <img src=images/front1.png border=0> </div> which looks great on res 1280 x 1024, 1200 x 800, 1200 x 768, 1152 x 864 It's pushed to the right on 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 It's pushed way left on 1600 x 1200

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
