I have a complete Intranet site with about 140 pages using Verdana as
the basic font.
How do I place a table (12 columns) with Arial instead of Verdana, only
for that table. I have defined a style in my CSS and tried to apply it
to the table, doesn't work. I have tried to wrap the table in a div
with the style. Doesn't work. I have tried the old-fashioned <font>
tag, doesn't work. I must be doing something wrong.
It works however if I give the individual THs or TDs the style in
question, but I don't want to copy the style (class) into 600
individual cells...
I am sure there is a more elegant way. Can anybody help? Many thanks in
advance.
Sorry I cannot post the URL because it is behind our firewall...

Upload some testcase, or make yourself more clear. Try W3C CSS checker.
We don't know what you have done, so all answers are from dark.
table.class td, table.class th {font-family:Arial !important;}

Thanks, this works perfectly. This is all I needed.

Yes, I have read that before, but finally I keep Verdana on these
(Intranet) pages. On other pages, I leave it open, but my preference is
for Lucida Grande, and not many PCs have that. When I access on my Mac
pages written (for PC) with font size =2 or even 1, I just can't read.
There is no simple solution to that. Safari (on the Mac) is now the
most clever browser, as it scales even font sizes given in px...

What are you talking about? This page looks fine in IE6. And why a table
here? I'm beginning to think some people believe the use of table layout
is the key to peace in the Middle East...

I see: copy/paste of bottom line:
Incidentally it is sometimes said that using Verdana in a user stylesheet is
sound, but even this is doubtful: an inoffensive author style specification like
font-family: serif; font-size: 100% will leave you with text
....end of paste...
funny way to end a sentence ! But the last line comes and goes, depending
on the proximity of the mouse, the browser font size, and the weather.
Typical of CSS. An html table would never be so unstable.
WindowsXP MSIE 6 1024x768 not that they matter. (It looks ok in Opera.)
And there is no key to peace in the Middle East.... but since you raised
the subject: http://masonc.home.netcom.com/westbank.html

Well, running IE6 on W98 at same monitor resolution and guess what, I
can't get that line to disappear. It's all there perfectly, in Opera 7.23
and IE6. Maybe clear your cache, perhaps you didn't get all the code
downloaded.

Weird. Looks fine in IE6 on XP to me, at various window and font sizes,
and repeatedly refreshed and scrolled. But it's snowing here at present,
so maybe that's the difference ...
I'd suggest however that the phenomenon is better described as "typical
of IE", not "typical of CSS". In any case that paragraph is not
positioned or floated with CSS, so I'm not sure what you want me to use
a table to do.

Hi all,
I know now how to change the font name of a RTF file in a RTB control using,
for example:
RTextBox1.SelFontName = cmbFonts.Text
I have a RTF file -created with Word- displayed in a RTB control. Whenever I
change the font type during the runtime by selecting a font name from a
combobox -of all system fonts, the text changes its font correctly but I
loose some formatting such as a bold text and/or titles become normal text.

to a LinkButton type of control. But in cases where someone is using the

made to the PushButton control they do not make any requested changes.

I want to change the font of my rich text box to a font I downloaded. In the properties the font isn't there, so I tried changing it through the code with this variable declaration
Font MUDFONT = new Font("MUD 10",8, FontStyle.Regular);
and then calling it in the text changed function

DisplayBox.Font = MUDFONT;

I've got an ASP VS 2005 project. I'm trying to figure out how to programmatically change the font of a label. From memory, this was done easily in 2003, but the Font property is read-only.
Can someone please show me how to change the font programmatically?
Thanks

I have a pretty basic windows application created in Visual Studio
2005 and VB.NET.
I set my Form's font to Arial 8.25pt, so when i added a label and a
button they automatically have a font of Arial and 8.25pt.
Great.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
